Step 1
First, you need to make sure that your computer has not been exposed to a virus attack or other malware. Run your antivirus and let it scan your computer properly. If the antivirus finds "uninvited guests" remove them from your PC. Run the antivirus again in accelerated mode, make sure that all viruses are removed.
Step 2
Only after such a check, turn off all antiviruses, antispyware, firewalls, torrents and all other network programs installed on your computer.
Step 3
Right-click on the network connection "Status" - this way you can check the network activity of your PC. Watch the development of the situation. If the number of received and sent packets is stable, you have nothing to worry about. But if their number is constantly increasing, it means that you either missed the virus, or turned off not all network programs. In this case, use your antivirus again and check the operation of network programs.

On the Yandex website, go to the "I'm on the Internet!" Service page. Click on the "Measure speed" button. After that, you don't need to do anything else, just wait a minute and you can see the result - what is the incoming and outgoing speed of your Internet connection.
