When concluding a contract with an Internet provider, you probably want to be sure that the real connection speed will match the one promised in the contract. Nobody wants to overpay for services, which is why you should learn how to check the speed yourself.

Step 1
There are a great many sites on the Internet with which you can check your connection speed online. Go, for example, to the page https://www.speedtest.net/. Or find with the help of search engines any other Russian or foreign site suitable for you, designed for this purpose

For verification, a remote server is selected, with which a connection is established. In the process, the time of its response is determined, then, by sending test packets, the speed of information exchange with it is checked. Depending on the site, you will be prompted to select a server to test, or immediately start the test.
Step 3
In the first case, choose from the available options (click the mouse in the desired place on the map, or click the button of one of the servers). Next, click the button labeled "start test", or "begin test" (if the site is foreign). If there are no servers to choose from, the button should be pressed immediately. After that, the test will be performed automatically, and at the end of the test, the results will be displayed.
Step 4
After receiving the results, you will be prompted to repeat the test ("test again" - for English-language sites). If you want to confirm the result and check the connection speed again, repeat the test. It is best to do this several times, each time choosing a different server, since many factors affect the connection speed. For example, connections to servers over long distances tend to be slower than to neighboring ones. In addition, there are factors such as server load, local damage to network cables, and virus activity. And finally, the site you have chosen may provide false information, so use trusted services, run the test on several sites at once and compare the results.
