Very often there is a need to upload some files to the Internet, having the opportunity to get a direct link to them. This can be done in several ways, but, perhaps, the most convenient will be downloading through special services. One of these services is Dropbox, a free download program that is very convenient for uploading files to a server and has many useful features. Let's take a closer look at the algorithm for working with it.
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, download Dropbox. Dropbox is a convenient system with two parts: a client program and an online service. Download the program. After installation, the program will run from the tray (control panel in the lower right corner next to the clock). This program will monitor any directory on the disk. In the event that something changes in this directory, all these changes are synchronized with the place on the Dropbox server that you have allocated.
Step 2
Now proceed with the installation of the program. After you install it, you will be asked if you want to create an account. Agree to create it. Click the Next button.
Step 3
In the window that appears after that, fill in the following information: Name
Surname
Email address
Password
Password Confirmation Check the box in the user agreement.
Step 4
In the next window, select the size of the storage where your files will be located. If you want to get a free space, then choose 2 GB, the rest of the sizes will go to you only for a fee.
Step 5
The next window that appears is a message that says that a virtual folder has been created, that from any computer it will be possible to access the files that you download to this folder. You can upload files by simply dragging and dropping files there. In this window, just click Next or skip the procedure.
Step 6
In the end, a form will appear, in it you will be asked to select a location where the copy of the virtual folder will be located. You can choose a standard placement, or you can specify any that is convenient for you.
Step 7
Click Finish. The local root folder for Dropbox will appear in front of you. The entire folder structure in this folder will exactly repeat the same structure on the server. Now just select the required files and transfer them to the root folder. The program immediately synchronizes changes with the folder on the server, and those files that are successfully copied will be marked with a green checkmark.
Step 8
If you need, set additional folder properties. On some files, you can immediately set access for other users. Now just select the files uploaded to the server and copy the direct links to them.
Step 9
If necessary, you can increase the size of the virtual storage for a fee. Remember that absolutely any file extension can be uploaded to the server. Good luck with your work!
