In rare cases, you need to use proxy servers to access certain resources. Usually they are configured in browsers, but if you need to provide the computer with access to any Internet resources, they create a local network with a proxy server.
Instructions
Step 1
In the event that you are using the Opera browser, press the Ctrl and F12 keys combination to enter the browser settings menu. Now select the "Advanced" menu and open the "Network" item.

Click the Proxy Servers button and activate the Manually Configure Proxy Server function. Enter the proxy server address and port to connect to it

If you prefer to use the Mozilla browser, open the Settings menu. Select the "Advanced" tab and click the "Configure" button located in the "Configure Internet Connection Settings" menu. Now activate the "Manual proxy server configuration" function. Write down the address and port of the required server.
Step 4
If you need to configure a proxy server in Google Chrome, click on the wrench icon and select "Options". In the window that opens, select the "Advanced" item. Find the "Change proxy settings" button and click it.
Step 5
In the new window, click the "Settings" button located in the "Connections" menu. Now check the box next to "Use a proxy server for this connection." Enter the address and port of the proxy.
Step 6
If you need to configure an Internet connection on a local network using another computer as a proxy server, follow the steps below. Open the list of existing network connections. Find the required network and go to its properties.
Step 7
Now open the properties of the Internet Protocol TCP / IP. Find the following fields: Default Gateway and Preferred DNS Server. Enter the IP address of the computer that will act as the proxy server.
Step 8
Fill in the IP Address field in the same way, replacing the last (fourth) segment with a different number. Save the settings for this network connection.
