On some Internet resources it is not surprising to "get lost" - professional designers sometimes design the navigation buttons on the site in such an intricate way that they cannot be found right away. And novice webmasters, it happens, generally forget to provide their pages with such useful tools, or, conversely, leave links where they are not needed. But in any case, you can definitely enter the main page of the site.
Instructions
Step 1
Find the site navigation buttons. As a rule, they are located at the top of the page or on one of the sides. When doing this, pay attention to the following points:
- navigation buttons can be made in the form of drop-down or pop-up elements, so it will not be superfluous to move the cursor around the perimeter of the page window;
- in the English-language interface, the link to the main page most often contains the word Homepage or Home;
- in the graphical interface, the main page is usually denoted by an icon with the image of a house;
- a link to the main page, among other things, can be the main image or logo located in the so-called header of the site. In this way, for example, you can go to the main pages of Yandex, VKontakte and many other popular web resources. For clarity, right now, hover the mouse cursor over the HowProsto! Logo in the upper left corner of the page - the cursor will change its appearance and a pop-up window with a corresponding hint will appear below it - if you click on the logo, you will go to the main page.
Step 2
Keep in mind that on poorly designed amateur sites, you may see an active "Back to Home" link even when you are directly on that home page. Therefore, pay attention to the content of the address bar of your browser. If you are already on the main page, as a rule, only the site address itself will be contained there, i.e. record of the type “www.site_name.domain” (domain - letter combinations ru, com, net, org, ua, etc.) After this construction, no additional words, numbers or symbols will be indicated at all, especially those separated by the “/” sign. For example, www.kakprosto.ru. Although there are exceptions - in these cases, the word index is often used to refer to the main page.
Step 3
Please note that to go to the home page, you can simply delete the elements in the address bar after the letters denoting the domain (see the previous step). Select with the mouse all the characters separated from the site address by the "/" sign - they can also be displayed in a dimmer font - and press the Delete key, and then press Enter. Or completely clear the address bar and type the site address manually without all these "extra" elements (ie strictly: "www.site_name.domain"). After pressing Enter, you will automatically find yourself on the main page.
Step 4
Do not forget about the "Back" button - the first button with an arrow in the navigation tools of any browser, as well as about its "History" ("History of visits") in general. If you were on the main page of the site relatively recently, it will not be difficult to find the corresponding link. "History" ("History of visits") can be called through the browser menu and using hot keys:
- in Google Chrome - Ctrl + H;
- in Opera and Mozilla Firefox - Ctrl + Shift + H;
- in Internet Explorer - Alt + X.
