Many users customize their favorite programs on their personal computer to fit their needs, but often face such a problem as returning the default settings. The developers of the "Opera" browser have not set the function to return to the default value in the settings. This is a big disadvantage in using this program. Do not despair, the way out of this situation is simple.
Instructions
Step 1
To return to the original Opera settings, many users simply uninstall the browser and reinstall it again. This option is not at all complicated, but it cannot give one hundred percent confidence that after reinstalling the browser, the default settings will be completely restored. As you know, the program leaves files with settings on your computer, and during the re-installation "Opera" returns to it. As a result, the problem remains unresolved.
Step 2
To return to the original default settings in the Opera browser, open the Program Menu, select the Help tab. Click on the inscription "About the program". A special page will open, which shows all the ways in which "Opera" saves its data. From all the suggested ones, select the top one, called "Settings".
Step 3
In the specified settings, find the destination folder and open it. It contains a file called "Operaprefs.ini". Delete it. If the function "Displaying file extensions" is disabled in your operating system, then this file will be named "Operaprefs". After this procedure, restart the "Opera" browser, after which all existing settings will return to their original state.
Step 4
If you are a novice user who has not yet mastered all the knowledge about a personal computer, then it will be difficult for you to find the desired path to the settings folder. The fact is that many folders are hidden. To fix this and open folder visibility, open a Windows Explorer window. Click the Tools tab, then Folder Options. Select the "View" line and check the box next to "Show hidden files and folders". Now you can use the opera as it was before the files were damaged!
