When creating a non-commercial project, the budget is usually limited, so they try to register a domain and hosting for free. There are no problems with the choice of the latter, since there are enough offers on the market. But the domain can be registered for free only at the third level. In this case, the name of the site becomes longer, as it looks, for example, like this: site.domen.ru. There are many providers providing registration services for such domains. It is enough to consider one of them so that the algorithm is clear.

Instructions

Step 1

Choose a third-level domain in accordance with the theme of your project. For example, NET. RU, if your site is somehow connected with the development of the Internet, ORG. RU, if the future network resource is of a non-commercial nature and PP. RU, if it is the user's personal page.

Step 2

Come up with a domain name, it should be between 2 and 63 characters long. Ideally, use your first or last name if it will be a personal site, or the name of the club if you plan to create a site such as a vegetarian society.

Step 3

Fill out the registration form on the website. Specify the data of DNS servers to which future domains will be linked. The provider has special requirements for their work. First, the domain servers must have a stable internet connection. Interruptions in work are allowed, but not exceeding two hours per day (in total). Secondly, it is mandatory to maintain DNS servers that comply with the international RFC standards (1032, 1033, 1034, 1035 and 1591).

Step 4

For a third-level domain to be registered, it is advisable not to end its name with a hyphen or other punctuation marks. At the beginning and at the end of a word, it is better to use Latin letters or numbers, in the middle, you can use "_" or "-".

Step 5

Wait for a response from the support team. The decision to register a third-level domain is made within two business days. The application may be rejected if the domain name used words that offend religious feelings, human dignity, or have obscene content.
