If you decide to use a DVR for the protection and security of your office, home or other property, then sooner or later you will want to output data from it to a computer or via the Internet. To do this, you need to perform a number of simple steps.
Instructions
Step 1
First, connect the DVR to the Ethernet network, i.e. local. To do this, use a standard twisted pair cable and connect the device to the network switch. You can also directly connect the DVR to the network card of your computer by crimping the wire according to the "cross" scheme. Install on a personal computer the software that was to be sold with the device for computer control.
Step 2
Obtain a static IP address so that the DVR can be connected to the Internet. To do this, contact your provider and find out if they provide a similar service. If not, then you will need to register with the dynamic DNS service and obtain a permanent domain name for your personal computer or laptop. Specify this information in the network settings of the DVR.
Step 3
Set the login and password by which you will be able to access the registrar management. After that, you can launch a browser from anywhere in the world and enter the IP address or domain name of your device into the address bar. After that, you will be prompted to install software on your computer that allows you to view video from the DVR and manage its settings.
Step 4
Please check the following points if you have any problems connecting the registrar to the Internet or accessing its information. Make sure that the network settings of the device are saved and the web service is enabled. Ping the IP address of the registrar.
Step 5
To do this, enter the command line by entering cmd in the "Run" section of the "Start" menu and write ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, where x is the value of the IP address. If the recorder is connected directly to the computer, then double-check the cable crimp, perhaps there is no signal because of this.
