Internet users access the network through a provider. The provider owns a certain range of ip-addresses; when connecting to the network, the user is allocated one of the addresses in this range. The presence of an ip-address allows, if necessary, to easily identify the provider.

Instructions

Step 1

The need to determine the provider that owns a specific ip-address can arise in different situations. For example, you managed to figure out the IP of a computer whose owner illegally connected to your machine or committed other illegal actions. In this case, you can inform the provider about the actions performed at such and such time from such and such an IP address.

Step 2

If you suspect an illegal connection to your computer, type in the command line ("Start - All Programs - Accessories - Command Prompt") the command netstat –aon and press Enter. You will see a list of all connections with an indication of the external address, port to which the connection was made, connection status and other data. Knowing the ip, you can try to find the provider.

Step 3

It is very easy to identify the provider, for this it is enough to use one of the many network services that provide the corresponding services. For example, this: https://www.ip-ping.ru/ipinfo/? Insert the IP you are interested in in the field and click the "Request" button, you will receive all the information you are interested in about the provider, including phone numbers and e-mail addresses.

Step 4

If necessary, you can find out the location of your computer using the appropriate service: https://www.ip-1.ru/ Select "Geocoding" on the page that opens, then enter the address you need in the search field. The map that appears will show the location of your computer. In reality, this option does not guarantee the exact location, but it allows you to find out the region.

Step 5

You should be aware that it is almost impossible to find a hacker in reality, since a more or less experienced attacker always works in the network through a proxy server, VPN or "Dedicated" - someone else's hacked computer. Therefore, in the best case, you will determine the address of the proxy server or the person whose computer was used by the hacker as an intermediate link.
