Gunpowder is obtained from creepers. They are dangerous green creatures that move almost silently. They explode when they get close to the player. It takes them a couple of seconds to "charge", during which you can hear a quiet hiss. A player can survive one detonation of a creeper without armor at full health, but two exploding monsters are almost guaranteed to destroy him. If the creeper is killed before it explodes, gunpowder can fall out. Therefore, these monsters need to be hunted with a bow that allows you to destroy green monsters from a decent distance. At the same time, it is advisable to stand on a hill, since with a difference in height of three blocks between the player and the monster, the latter cannot explode.
Gunpowder is a rare and valuable resource as hunting creepers is quite dangerous. And alternative ways of getting it are unreliable. It can be obtained by killing ghasts in the Nether, but they often fly over lava lakes, so after the destruction of these creatures, all the useful materials that fell out of them simply burn out. Gunpowder can be obtained by killing witches. But they are found only in swamps, and they are also thrown with dangerous potions.
Small star - impressive effect
Stars are created from a unit of gunpowder and dye. Colorants can be obtained from flowers, plants, minerals, and some animals. They can be mixed for interesting color combinations. The simplest star consists of one gunpowder and one dye. However, you can use multiple colors and additional modifiers that affect the final look of the fireworks. Diamond, light dust, feather and some other items act as modifiers.
