Phishing is one of the methods of scamming on the Internet. The user is in one way or another directed to a page of the site, very similar to the original one, with fields for entering a login, password or other data. The entered data falls into the hands of scammers. To protect against the threat, you must follow security rules and, if necessary, use special utilities to clean your computer from malware.

Step 1
Defending against the simplest types of phishing is easy enough. For example, you have received a letter from a bank in which you have an account opened to your mailbox, and in it, under one pretext or another, you are asked to follow the link provided. The main rule is never to follow such links. If you admit that the letter is really from the bank, go to the main page of its site, but using a different link - for example, found in a search engine. Then, from the main page, try to get to the one indicated in the letter - just substitute the necessary directories in the line after the domain name of the site. In this case, you are guaranteed not to end up on a phishing page.
Step 2
The most dangerous types of phishing are those associated with spyware getting on the user's computer. When trying to go to, for example, an online banking page, the Trojan intercepts the request and redirects the user to a phishing page. Not suspecting anything, he enters credentials, which immediately fall into the hands of scammers. In this case, the Trojan does not need to intercept the entered data and send it somewhere (which can be prevented by the firewall) - the user enters it himself. After entering the user's data, it will most likely be transferred to the bank's real page with a message about the incorrectly entered password. He will re-enter the data and log into his account, not suspecting that the login and password have already been stolen.
Step 3
Sometimes the user is faced with the fact that in the browser again and again this or that message pops up, requiring a transition to a site and entering data. For example, you may be informed about the blocking of your computer in connection with sending spam; to correct the situation, you need to follow the link and enter some data. When you click through, you are almost guaranteed to land on a phishing page, be it a copy of a social media page, email service, or other resource.
Step 4
If you are faced with the appearance of such a window, first of all check your computer with the utilities Kaspersky AVP Tool or Dr. Web CureIT. In this case, it is useful to have two operating systems on your computer - if you have problems with one and you cannot go online, just boot from the other, download the necessary utilities and check your computer with them. These utilities do not conflict with other antivirus programs, so they can be run on any computer.
Step 5
Check the proxy server settings in your browser - it is possible that the Trojan program changed them and you are taken to the address specified in the proxy field, where you see a message with a phishing link. Analyze the processes running in the system: if there are suspicious ones, find out which programs they belong to. The AnVir Task Manager program will help you with this.
