Using the mobile Internet with incorrect settings or without them generally threatens to increase the cost of one megabyte by about a hundred times. The phones of most manufacturers, incl. Nokia provides a flexible configuration system that allows you to adapt the device to the settings of any operator.
Instructions
Step 1
Launch the phone's SIM menu. Depending on its model, it can be located in the menu folder "My applications", "Applications" - "Installed" or in another. Find in it the item designed to automatically receive mobile Internet settings (not WAP!) For Nokia devices. Wait for the configuration response message. Be sure to check that the name of the access point (APN) in them begins with internet, not wap, and then activate them. If a password is required, enter "1234", and if it does not work - "12345".
Step 2
If only the WAP settings can be obtained using the specified method, call the operator's support service and ask to send the correct settings. Explain to the consultant that you want to use the mobile Internet, not WAP. Name not only the manufacturer of the device (Nokia), but also its model. When the configuration message arrives, check it before activating anyway just in case.
Step 3
If the operator refuses to provide you with settings specifically for the Internet, go to the following website: https://mobile.yandex.ru/tune/ Enter your phone number, select the operator and model of the device. Then activate the received message with the settings, as indicated above.
Step 4
Set up your phone manually if necessary. To do this, select the menu item "Settings" - "Configuration" - "Personal configuration settings" (in different models, the location of this item may differ). In the additional menu called by the left screen button, select "Add new" - "Access point". You can think of any name for the point. Turn on the "Packet data" mode. Fill in the following fields: APN - internet.mts.ru (for MTS), internet.beeline.ru (for Beeline), internet (for Megafon). Fill in the fields for the username and password in the same way: mts (for MTS), beeline (for Beeline), gdata (for Megafon). Set the point you created as the default for both the built-in browser and applications. Go online from the built-in browser and from any application, then call the support service and ask through which APN the access was made. If they say that in both cases APN for the Internet was used, the configuration can be considered successful.
Step 5
If the service of unlimited Internet access is provided in your region at a price that suits you, activate it. Please note that in roaming the cost of one megabyte is very high, and unlimited access does not work.
