Step 1
In order to block access to sites, you can go in different ways. One of them is to edit the hosts file. First, open this file. It is located in the X: windowssystem32driversetc directory (where X is the letter of the partition where your Windows operating system is installed, usually the Latin letter C). Open this file with Notepad or another text editor. To do this, right-click on the hosts file, find the line "Open with" and select the required program.
Step 2
After that the hosts file will open in a text editor, copy the link to the blocked resource. Go to the text editor and put the cursor on the last line (to do this, click after the word localhost and press Enter). Write to this line yourself or copy the ip-address 127.0.0.1 from the previous line. After these numbers, press Tab or leave the same space as on the previous line. Paste the previously copied link without protocols (i.e. www or http) and save the file.
Step 3
Another blocking method is to use special services in anti-virus systems. One of them is the Eset antivirus. To block certain Internet resources using it, go to the "Protection and Internet access" section, where in the address management category, find the option with a list of blocked addresses. By clicking the "Add" button, enter the required address of the blocked resource.
Step 4
The Kasperskiy Internet Security antivirus system has a similar service. To block unwanted sites using KIS, open the antivirus window and click on the "Parental Control" line in the left-hand menu. The next step is to select your account (administrator), open the "Visiting websites" tab, check the box next to the "Enable control" line. After that, click on the "Exceptions" button and add the required Internet addresses.
