Instructions

Step 1

Use the JDMCO SimplePiano software to learn how to play the piano. It displays the keyboard of a musical instrument on the screen, on which those keys that need to be pressed at the moment are automatically highlighted. You can click on them with the mouse or using the computer keyboard, but this mode is more suitable for entertainment, not learning. It is much more convenient to look at the screen and play according to the prompts on a real piano or on a MIDI keyboard connected to your computer. The app also includes modes for learning chords and reading random notes. It is intended for Windows, but it can also be run on Linux with the Wine emulator.

Step 2

The program TuxGuitar, designed for learning to play the guitar, is cross-platform. It works on both Linux and Windows, provided a Java environment is available. This application displays the guitar fretboard on the screen, and during training, it automatically shows which strings and on which frets you need to clamp. There is also a piano keyboard display mode as in the JDMCO SimplePiano. Optionally, turn on the software's built-in virtual metronome, which will allow you to practice your sense of rhythm.

Step 3

Anyone who wants to learn how to independently select the melodies they hear should be able to perceive notes by ear. The Note shooter fash application will help you develop this skill. It works in any OS, subject to the presence of a browser and the Flash Player plugin. Hearing the sound, bring the treble clef flying up to the Latin letter denoting the note corresponding to this sound. You must act quickly, otherwise the key will reach the top of the screen. The program automatically calculates correct and incorrect answers, and if there are too many errors, the training session will stop.

Step 4

Downloading any of these programs is done by clicking on the link to the executable or installation file, by clicking the right mouse button, selecting the menu item "Save by link as", selecting the folder and clicking Ok. The link to the executable file of the JDMCO SimplePiano application is located on the first of the following sites in paragraph 3 and is called Donwload. The executable file of this program does not require installation. To download the TuxGuitar application, go to the second of the following sites, select the Download section, and in it - the installation file suitable for your OS. If Java is not available, download the version of the program compiled with Excelsior JET. On Windows, run the installer and follow the installer's prompts, and on Linux, use a package manager such as dpkg or rpm.

Step 5

Note shooter will launch automatically when you navigate to the third of the following pages if you have Flash Player. If you need to continue using this application on a machine not connected to the Internet, you will have to download the SWF file. To do this, in the address bar of the browser, replace the html extension with swf, and then download the file using the browser menu item "File" - "Save As". Now transfer the file to a computer that is not connected to the Internet, launch a browser on it, and then enter the direct path to the SWF file in the address bar.
