Many Skype users are not satisfied with the fact that the font used to display chat conversations is too small. Fortunately, the font size can be increased in the program's settings.
The Skype application is designed for video calls and text messaging. While there are no complaints about Skype in terms of video, Skype users often complain about text chat that the program has too small print. If you stare intently at small letters for a long time, you can get a visual impairment.
Increasing the font size
Fortunately, there is an easy way to increase the font size in Skype. To do this, just open the program settings panel. Click on "Tools" in the top menu, select "Options" and click on the "Change Font" button. A window with font settings will open in front of you - there you can specify the desired typeface, font size and choose between regular, bold and italic.
In the case of Mac OS, the font size in Skype can be changed using the hotkeys. The combination Cmd + increases the font size, and the combination Cmd- decreases it. To display the text in the chat in the default font, just press Cmd0.
Please note that Skype only allows you to change the settings for the font used to display messages directly in the chat. The ability to change the font of other elements of the program interface (contact list, etc.) is not provided by the Skype developers.
Change the font size for the contact list
If you have Windows 7 operating system installed on your computer, then the problem with the small print in the Skype contact list can be solved as follows. Click on the Desktop with the right mouse button, select "Personalization" from the context menu, then - "Screen" and "Other font size". After that, you just have to uncheck the box next to the item "Use scales in the style of Windows XP".
Hidden Skype features
In addition to trickery with the font of chat messages, there are other hidden features in Skype. For example, everyone knows - if a writing pencil is shown in the chat window, then your interlocutor is typing a message. But if, when typing a message, you successively press any three keys (they should not be located next to each other), then your counterpart, instead of a writing pencil, will see a walking cat. If instead of typing a message, you quickly press keys in a chaotic manner, your interlocutor will see how the writing pencil breaks in half.
