Twitter is a popular microblogging service all over the world. It is used both for communication on the network and for making money and promoting another blog or site. Users who use Twitter for different purposes usually have two accounts so as not to confuse personal and business correspondence.
Instructions
Step 1
Sign up to twitter.com to start using Twitter. This procedure has recently been available in Russian, takes place in several stages and consists in simply filling in the fields with your data at the first stage. In the second step, the service offers to add people you are interested in to read their posts. It is recommended to add at least 5 people here. At the third stage of registration, add 5 more people from different categories.
Step 2
After that, Twitter will offer you to transfer your friends from other email and social networks. If you want to do this, specify the logins and passwords from the services provided and select those you want to import. The steps for adding friends are optional and can be skipped. At the end of the registration, indicate your valid mailbox. It will receive an email with a link to activate your profile. Follow this link.
Step 3
To chat on Twitter, enter the text of your messages in the space provided at the top of the page and click the Tweet button. Each message must contain no more than 140 characters, including spaces. Next to the Tweet button is an indicator of the number of characters already entered. Immediately after sending your message, it will be added to your feed below. But no one will see it until you have followers - people reading your messages.
Step 4
On the right side of your page, find the Following and Followers sections. The first section lists the users whose posts you are reading. In the second, the users who follow you. To add a specific person to the list of your readers, click on the Search button, having previously entered the login of this person in the field next to it. In the window that opens, you can see the last messages of this person, and by clicking on his photo - his information. Click the Following button and that person will become your reader.
Step 5
Use the Search function to find people of interest to you, as well as messages containing words and phrases that interest you. Note that your feed only displays posts from the users you follow, plus your posts. Accordingly, your messages appear on the feeds of your readers - followers. So if you liked someone's message - a tweet - your friends won't see it unless you use the retweet feature.
Step 6
To retweet text, hover over it and select the Retwit option. After that, the message you like with a link to its author will be seen by your followers. This feature is incredibly useful for expanding your audience of followers. So, if you yourself write something that your readers will certainly want to retweet, then your readers will pay attention to you. And after them - the readers of the readers of your readers and so on.
Step 7
Use the Reply button below the message if you want to enter into a discussion with the author. This will allow you to send a response message to its author. Your entire discussion will be readable by your followers. Write private messages to someone through the Message option. In the tab that opens, click on New Message, select a user and write him a private message. Its text will not appear in the feed and will be readable only by the recipient.
