The Internet is convenient because it allows you to view interesting pages, find information, and use various services. However, it is not always possible to quickly read the required data or evaluate all the pictures. In this case, they often use programs that can save the entire site, and then calmly view it.
Downloading entire websites
Among the many programs that allow you to download entire sites, there are those that do it with one hundred percent quality. Others only partially transfer sites to their hard drive. Still others work only selectively, saving pictures, music, videos or html-code. Three of the most successful workable examples were selected from all reviewed:
Offline Explorer is a so-called offline browser, shareware and multilingual. The Metaproducts developer project is developing to this day, and now the latest current version is 6.5. The program can download individual files and even entire sites. Protocols used are HTTP, FTP, HTTPS, MMS, RTSP and Bittorrent.
HTTrack is a lesser known, but no less quality product from the developer “Xavier Roche”. A free program that runs on the Windows or Unix platform. Currently the latest version is 3.47. The ease of use is that any interrupted download can continue further. This is useful when you need to temporarily interrupt the download.
Wget - differs from previous projects in the absence of a graphical shell, since it works in console mode using the command line. Mainly focused on UNIX systems, but there is also a version for Windows. To date, the developers “Mauro Tortonesi, Giuseppe Scrivano” and others have released version 1.14. The program does not use all possible protocols for downloading sites, such as, for example, HTTP, FTP and JavaScript scripts, but at the same time it works reliably and fulfills its goals.
What to do with saved sites
Let's say you have already used one of the proposed programs and created a copy of the site on your hard drive. And then you can do different things with it.
For example, select all the pictures and put together a good photo collection. Or, if it's a book site, "collect" all the text files and organize your personal library. And for programmers and web designers, this is a good opportunity to learn the intricacies of mastery while parsing code in a relaxed atmosphere.
