Email is an indispensable attribute of a modern person. Most of the correspondence has long been going through it. It receives business letters, receipts for payments for purchases in online stores, and registration data, and advertising, and much more. What to do when you need to find a very specific letter?
Instructions
Step 1
It doesn't really matter what kind of email client you have. They are all very similar. The letters in them are in four folders. "Inbox" - for incoming letters. "Outgoing" - for outgoing. "Recycle Bin" or "Deleted Items" - for deleted items. "Spam" - it contains those letters that the mail client considered spam, however, quite often ordinary incoming letters also get there.
Step 2
If you are looking for a letter that came to you, go to your inbox and look at the contents of the first page, you may be lucky, the desired letter will be there, and you will not have to search further.
Step 3
In any mail client there is a mail search. As a rule, it is located at the top of the page and consists of a free field for entering a query and a button "Search" or "Find".
Step 4
If you remember the address from which the letter came, enter it in the search bar. You don't have to enter the entire address, just enter part of it. The search results will be displayed as a list of letters that answer the query.
Step 5
Enter part of the subject line. It is better not to write the entire topic in its entirety, as you can make a mistake, and then the search results will be incorrect. Do keyword searches.
Step 6
In some email clients, you can customize the search by date. To do this, select the date range in which, presumably, you received the letter.
Step 7
You may have accidentally deleted the letter. Go to the "Deleted Items" folder and look for the letter there. Do not forget that the size of this folder is limited, and all old messages will be deleted automatically.
Step 8
Check your spam folder. For various reasons, an email client may decide that an email that came to you is spam. To move it from this folder to another, check the box and click the "Do not spam" button. Enter the necessary addresses (e-mail) in the address book, then letters from them will not end up in spam.
