You can find a lot of interesting things on the Internet, but you can also easily pick up a virus. It is to this category that SMS banners belong. An unnecessary detail of considerable size may appear at the bottom of your browser. There will be indecent pictures and an inscription on it. It says that you (allegedly) subscribed to this ad, but you can unsubscribe from it. To do this, you need to send an SMS to a short number. This is a common scam. It is actually a virus and you can get rid of it without paying a dime.
Instructions
Step 1
Removing a banner from Internet Explorer.
Open Internet Explorer. Find in the "Tools" menu. Now find "Internet Options". Enter the "Advanced" tab and click "Reset". Finally, restart your computer.
Step 2
Removing a banner from Opera.
In the browser, open the menu item "Tools - Options". Enter "Advanced" and then "Content". Find the "Javascript Settings …" button. A window appears with the Custom Javascript Files Folder field. Make a note of the path written in it. Now remove this path from the field and click OK. Close your browser. Now you can follow this path and delete the virus files with the "js" extension. The path might look like "C: WINDOWS uscripts". In this case, delete the "uscripts" folder. You can reboot.
Step 3
Removing informer from Mozilla Firefox.
From the Tools menu, select Add-ons. Now go to "Extensions". From here you should delete all items unknown to you. Also remove those that look suspicious. Restart your computer.
Step 4
There is another type of ransomware banner. It is no longer located in the browser, but on the desktop, taking up most of the screen. Removing this type of virus is much more difficult. It blocks access to many sites, slows down your computer and makes it simply unbearable to stay at it. You will need another computer to get rid of it, so ask a friend for help. Use the Kaspersky Lab website.
Step 5
Here are two fields: one for the phone number, the other for the text of the required SMS. Fill in them and click "find out" or "get an unlock code". Enter the received data into the banner window and your computer is free.
Step 6
If the fraudsters demand to top up the phone number account, then enter this number in the appropriate field and click "get unlock code". The code is received. If you are required to top up your wallet, enter your wallet number in the "phone number" field. And if we are talking about replenishing the account of an account in a contact, enter the attacker's ID instead of the phone number.
Step 7
After getting rid of the banner, run a full scan of your computer for viruses. Always use only licensed antivirus software. This will allow you to regularly update the anti-virus database and keep your computer under reliable protection.
