If, in the midst of work, at the bottom of the browser, a banner with indecent pictures suddenly appeared from nowhere, do not be alarmed. As a rule, it says something like the following: “you subscribed to our advertisement for 1 month, but you can unsubscribe from it by sending an SMS to a short number”. Don't fall for this deception and don't send any messages to scammers. There are cases when the banner did not disappear after sending an SMS. And the money went away.
Instructions
Step 1
Removing a banner from Internet Explorer.
Open IE. Select "Tools - Internet Options" from the menu. Then click "Advanced" and the "Reset" button. Reboot your computer. The browser is cleared.
Step 2
Removing a banner from Opera.
Open your browser. Go to "Tools - Options". Select the "Advanced" tab, then go to "Content", and now click on the "Javascript Settings …" button. In the window that appears, you will see the path specified in the "Custom Javascript Files Folder" field. Write it down or memorize it. Remove this entry from the field and click OK. Close your browser and follow the path you rewrote. Delete the banner files (they have the extension "js"). If the path looks like this: "C: WINDOWS uscripts", then you should delete the entire folder "uscripts". Reboot your computer.
Step 3
Removing informer from Mozilla Firefox.
Open the mozilla. Enter the menu "Tools - Add-ons". Select "Extensions" and delete all items about which you do not know anything or they cause you distrust. Reboot. Your computer is now clean.
Step 4
You may encounter another, much larger problem. The banner is located on the desktop, occupying most of the screen, and blocks access to most sites, especially search sites and pages of antivirus programs. Also, the work of the computer slows down, every now and then the "blue screen of death" pops up, even starting the computer in safe mode does not help. To fight this virus, you will need another computer from which you can access the Internet.
Step 5
Go to the Kaspersky Lab website. You will see two fields: one for the phone number, the other for the SMS text. Fill them out. Now click "find out" or "get the unlock code". In response, you will receive a code that must be entered into the banner window. The banner should disappear.
Step 6
If scammers demand to top up a phone number account, top up a wallet or account in a contact, enter in the first field the phone number, wallet or id of the attacker.
Step 7
When the banner disappears, run a full scan of your computer for viruses. To do this, use special antivirus utilities. Provide your computer with reliable protection of licensed antivirus software. And don't visit questionable sites.
