Step 1

Log in to the control panel through the home page of your site or through the web top in the ucoz system. Make sure the module you want to add the category to is enabled. To do this, check the menu items on the left side of the page. If the required module is not there, click on the "Inactive" tab at the bottom of the menu, select the "File directory" item from the list and click on the "Activate module" button.

Step 2

After the item "File directory" appears in the menu, select it by clicking the left mouse button. You will be taken to the module management page. Click on the link "Category Management" and wait for the page to refresh.

Step 3

Decide what the structure of your file directory will be. If you want to create several sections with different categories, first click on the "Add section" button. In the new window, enter its name and, if necessary, a description. Mark the user groups who will be able to view the materials in the section and click the "Save" button.

Step 4

To add a category to the newly created section, click the button in the upper right corner of the page or the link line to the right of the "Add category" section name. In the new window, use the drop-down list to select the section to which the new category will be assigned, then enter its name and indicate which user groups will be able to perform the actions shown in the list in it (download files, add materials, and so on). Click on the "Save" button.

Step 5

If you need to create just categories without sections, immediately use the "Add category" button. If necessary, you can always edit any section or category using the button in the form of a wrench. Remember to save your changes. Adding material to the created category is done directly from the site.
