WinRAR is one of the most popular archivers today. Despite the fact that the program is shareware, it can be downloaded for free from the official Russian or foreign website of the developer.
Using WinRAR
WinRAR is a shareware program. This means that the application will function for free during the trial period of 30 days and will continue to work after the specified period. However, every time you try to use the program, you will receive a message that this copy of the software should be purchased for the purpose of supporting the developer. At the same time, the application will not lose its functionality and will regularly perform its tasks.
Download the program only from the official website of the developer. This will allow you to eliminate the risk of downloading a virus-infected program or an inoperable old version of the application.

To download WinRAR for free, go to the official website of the program in Russia, win-rar.ru. Open the browser installed on your computer and enter the resource address in the address bar located at the top of the application window. Click on the "Download" button, which is located on the left side of the site page.
You will be prompted to download the latest English version of the program or go to the list of localized versions, including Russian WinRAR in versions for 32- and 64-bit systems. To find out what system is installed on your computer, go to the "Start" menu and right-click on the "Computer" item. Select "Properties" from the offered context menu. Navigate to rarlab.com in a browser window and then click on the Downloads section that is available on the left side of the page. In the list of the latest versions, you will see both beta (new versions in the final stage of stability testing) and fully functional stable versions. In the list of proposed options, select the one that suits you best and click on the corresponding link. The download of the program will start. To start installing WinRAR, run the downloaded file and follow the instructions on the screen.
