Favicon is a small picture of 16x16 pixels. It appears in the title of the page and to the left of the browser address bar. Some search engines display such images next to search results, which increases the site's traffic. To add a favicon, you need to enter the appropriate code into the HTML page.
Instructions
Step 1
Find the appropriate icon to set the favicon. It must be.ico and 16x16 pixels. These parameters are required. If the picture exceeds the specified parameter, the system will need to reduce this icon on its own, which may affect the page loading speed.
Step 2
You can create an image using any graphics editor on your computer. If the selected program does not support saving in this format, you can save the desired picture in.png,.jpg
Step 3
Once your favicon is created, place it in the same folder as your html file. Then open the site page for editing in whatever text editor you use to create the web page.
Step 4
Go to the document section and enter the code to insert the image into the page design. The HTML in this section should look like this:
Step 5
Save your changes and open the edited page in a browser window. If all the data and tags were specified correctly, you will see the icon you need in the window.
