Step 1
Counter-Strike 1.6
Counter Strike 1.6 is the oldest version of the popular online shooter. But despite this, it is still played by thousands of players. This version has tough physics, which means that the controls in it are much easier than in the next versions of the game. It is much more pleasant and easier to play in a team in Counter Strike 1.6. The version is also less resistant to loading various configurations, which greatly simplifies both the gameplay and the performance of the game.
Of the minuses, one can single out the very old graphics, which were relevant only in 2002. Many maps in the game have flaws: the player can simply shoot through a thick wall and accidentally kill the player. Most of the various custom mods have "bugs" that are inconvenient for all Counter Strike 1.6 players. In addition, this version has weak protection against cheat codes that some players use. "Cheaters" spoil the whole game for honest players. There is also an imbalance in some types of weapons in the game: the so-called "quick-shooters" have a clear advantage on the battlefield, which means that it is not profitable to use other types of weapons.
Step 2
Counter-Strike: Source
Counter Strike: Source is the best version of the game. It has a more powerful game engine than 1.6. The controls in the game are quite realistic, the physics of the weapons has been balanced. This version has good graphics, which attracts a lot of players. In addition, stronger protection against "cheaters" has been built in. Unlike 1.6, in Source players cannot be killed through a thick wall. All maps in the game are well designed.
But Counter-Strike: Source also has a number of disadvantages. Sometimes a player can spend half, or even the entire clip, to kill an enemy. The lack of a storyline may confuse some players. Also, the team became more difficult to play, since the cover on the map has become significantly less compared to 1.6.
Step 3
Counter-Strike: Condition Zero
Unfortunately, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero has very few merits. Of the advantages, only the "career" mode can be distinguished, where players can go through various tasks together.
The disadvantages include poor graphics, gameplay and an unrealistic atmosphere. Also, the game lacks protection against cheat codes, which spoils the whole experience of the gameplay.
Step 4
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is a game based on the good old version 1.6. Most of the maps from 1.6 have been reworked: textures have been improved, new objects and shelters have been introduced. Weapon models have also undergone changes: they have become more realistic, and combat characteristics are close to real prototypes. The arsenal of weapons was replenished with Molotov cocktails and an electronic grenade.
But some players will find it difficult to play due to the changed physics - in previous versions, the controls were smooth and easy. Also, many fans will not like the transfer of control points on some maps.
