With the help of a fishing rod, you can pull up dangerous monsters, such as skeletons, which are armed with bows. They do not pose such a danger up close and are easy to deal with.
With threads, everything is a little more complicated. They can be obtained from spider webs or by killing spiders. Spiders are dangerous aggressive monsters that are best not to face at the beginning of the game. But their webs can be found anywhere. The web can be cut with a sword or scissors. If you are just getting started, it is much easier to make a wooden sword from one stick and two blocks of planks arranged in a vertical line on a workbench. In addition, the sword is also good because it can be used to defend against monsters and kill animals.

Where can I get the threads?
Threads can also be obtained from wool. Wool, in turn, can be harvested by killing or shearing sheep. These animals can be found in almost any area. To cut them, you need scissors, which are made of iron, and it is quite difficult to get it at the very beginning of the game. So in this case, the sword will come in handy. Killing a sheep drops one block of wool. From one block of wool, you can get two threads.
To create a fishing rod, you need to place three sticks diagonally on a workbench and lower two threads from the top corner of the diagonal. The diagram is shown in the picture.
To start using the fishing rod, go to the reservoir and click on the right mouse button. You will see a float appear on the surface of the water, to which the fishing line stretches from the rod clamped in your hands. Watch the float carefully, as soon as it starts to twitch and goes under the water, press the right mouse button again, hooking the prey. You can catch fish, trash, or treasure. If the fish is lost, do not be discouraged and keep trying.
