Mining is the process of mining cryptocurrency using a computer processor (server) or a graphics card processor. Mining is achieved by creating special chains of data called blockchain. At the same time, the chains are quite long and quite a lot of computing power is required to create them, therefore several computers or servers take part in the mining at once. Mining requires very good cooling, since very strong servers are used for it. They are called ASIC, and in the vernacular - asiki.
Everyone can mine cryptocurrency (and here we remember the chef Gusteau from the movie "Ratatouille", who claimed that everyone can cook), without exception. But it should also be borne in mind that you won't be able to earn much with a standard server or computer. More precisely, you won't be able to make money at all. Therefore, for mining, you need the following list.
- Powerful graphics card
- ASIC server (in case of mining on ASICs)
- Datacenter for hosting the server.
- Strong cooling system.
- Mining software
The constituents
First, the video card. Here, the most popular for 2018 are AMD Radeon RX 56 with 2-4 GB of video memory (128 bit) or NVIDIA GeForce GTX1050ti with 4 GB of video memory (128 bit). The most stable systems are systems with four identical video cards. There are few problems when using and configuring them, and motherboards for this configuration are the cheapest, which perfectly helps to assemble a fast and stable configuration for mining. Do not forget that mining generates a lot of heat from the video card, so it can simply burn out from overload if the approach is wrong.
An ASIC is a special purpose integrated circuit that comes in the form of a chip. The best models are the Interfly Labs (600 Gh / s at 0.6 kW), Terra Miner (2 Terahesh at 2 kW / h), Antminer S5 (1155 Terahesh at 590 W), Avalon 6 (an external power supply is required. suitability is calculated according to three indicators: hash rate (the more, the better), energy consumption (the question is whether the network will withstand), and also the price, since as soon as mining begins to peak, the prices for equipment also skyrocket, and very high.
The datacenter plays an important role. There were already heroes who tried to mine in the apartment, but nothing good came of it - some flooded their neighbors, others burned down the apartment. Therefore, it is necessary to place all mining equipment only in the data center. After all, you will need the equipment to work constantly, and your energy is not wasted. Now ASICs accept data center Antminer (Yekaterinburg), reg.ru (Moscow), Dataline, Miran. These four datacenters are the most reliable. You can also add the SafeData data center to them. Here we also leave the item "cooling system" - the datacenter already has its own cooling, while in apartment mining, there will be a strong heat.
With regard to mining programs, I must say that here the console programs for Linux will be the best, because Linux eats quite a bit of resources and everything important will go to mining. I can name programs like Minergate, CGMiner, Awesome Miner, nheqminer here. The most effective of them is the Minergate program, which allows you to mine bitcoin, ether, zed cash, supports shared pools, and has an integrated converter. Someone considers the fact that it automatically uses server resources after launching as a minus, but I see this as a plus - installed, launched and forgotten. You can earn a lot on it, especially if you run several currencies in parallel.
