PayPal is one of the most popular online payment systems abroad. For a long time, its opportunities for the inhabitants of Russia were limited, but now this is in the past. Now we can safely register in the system, link our card to the account and use all its capabilities.

Step 1
Go to www.paypal.com. The page you will be taken to should be displayed in Russian automatically. If this did not happen, select the country and language manually in the upper right corner. At the top of the site, find a link that says “Register”. On the page that opens, you will need to, if necessary, select the country and language again. You will be presented with two account options: “PayPal for you” and “PayPal for business”. Select the first option and click the “Open an account” button.
Step 2
A questionnaire will appear in front of you, in which you will need to enter your personal data. As a rule, this is not difficult. All data you enter must be absolutely correct. Let us consider in more detail those points that relate to your bank card: first, you need to put a tick in front of the line “Link my credit card”. The card number must be entered without spaces. You will also need an expiration date for the card - it can be found on the front of the card, next to the number - and the CSC code. Look for it on the back of the card next to the signature, you will need the last three digits. Before clicking on the button “I agree and open an account”, it is better to familiarize yourself with the User Agreement, the link to which is on the same page.
Step 3
After opening an account, you will be taken to a page with the words “You are ready to start! What action do you want to take? Below them there will be a link: “Go to the page“My account”, which you need to click on. You will be taken to your personal account. But first, you will need to activate your account via the email you provided during registration. Look in your inbox for an email with the heading “Activate your new account from PayPal”. Find the button “Activate my account” in the letter and click on it. When prompted by the system, enter the password you used to register.
Step 4
Next, you will need to select two questions in the fields that appear in front of you and write two answers to them, choosing such information that is known only to you, and which you can easily remember. This is necessary so that you can restore access to your account if you forget your password. After completing these steps, your account will be fully activated. Now, by clicking on the link “Go to the page“My account”, enter your personal account.
Step 5
Once you are logged into your account, you can link your bank card to your account. To do this, follow the link "Connect and confirm a debit or credit card". Make sure in advance that the card has at least two dollars. This amount will be withdrawn from your card during the verification process. Then, as soon as you confirm the possession of the card, the money will be returned to you.
Carefully check the details of your card on the page, in particular, the last four digits of the number. If everything matches, click the "Continue" button.
Step 6
You will be redirected to a page with the inscription: “Confirm your card within two to three days”. To confirm, you need to wait for the system to withdraw the above amount from your card and find out the transaction confirmation code.
It will be enough for you to find out this code if such useful services as “Bank online” or SMS service are connected to your card. In the first case, you will need to go to your personal account of the online service, and find there the “List of authorized transactions”. In this list find PayPal and a code that looks like: PP * 4 digits CODE. If you have SMS notifications connected, then you will find a similar code in the SMS notification about the withdrawal of money from the card. If these services are not connected to you, then you can call the bank and ask the operator to find out the code for confirming PayPal, or come to the bank and take an account statement at the checkout - the code should be there. Do not forget that you will need a passport to receive your statement.
Step 7
Once you know the code, return to your PayPal account on the My Account page. There, on the right side of the page, find the link "Confirm my debit or credit card". After passing through it, you will see a window where you need to enter the code. After that, the card will be confirmed, and you will be able to perform all the operations you need with it.
