The IP address (Internet Protocol Address) is used to identify Internet surfers (more precisely, their network connection). Most of the network users have dynamic IP-addresses - the Internet service provider, upon entering the network, assigns them any of the available free or not very busy IP-addresses at the moment. That is, with each next access to the Internet, this address may change. You can find several methods of varying degrees of precision to determine the type (static or dynamic) of the IP address for your current connection.
Instructions
Step 1
If you are using a DialUp (card internet) connection, you can be sure that your current IP address is dynamic. Even if it does not change for several hours or even days, the organization of DialUp connections of the absolute majority of Internet providers is such that it does not provide for the use of static IP addresses for this type of connection.
Step 2
Another very reliable way to determine the static nature of your connection is to look for a corresponding mark in the agreement with the provider. The provision of a static IP address is almost always a paid service, so it is reflected in the service agreement. If you have access to online statistics, you can see this mark there as well. For example, to find out this in the "personal account" of Beeline, you must first go to the "Internet" tab, and then click the "Service Management" link. In the section "Services available for connection" there is a corresponding link-line ("Permanent IP-address") and you can see whether this service has been paid for. If you want, you can click this link and connect or disconnect.
Step 3
To the listed two, you can add only one fairly reliable way to determine the type of your IP-address - just call your provider's support phone and ask this question.
Step 4
All other methods of determination have an accuracy of fifty to fifty, at best. You can see your current IP address in the connection properties, then disconnect from the Internet and reconnect. If the address in the connection properties changes, it will mean that you have it dynamic. But if it remains the same, this does not mean that it is static - if you use a router, then the address in the properties will always be the same, since this is an “internal” IP address, not the one used to access the Internet. Even if you do not use a router, the provider's equipment assigns an address based on the current load of the lines, i.e. you may well be given the same address for hours, days, or even months. But at the same time it will remain dynamic, i.e. without guarantee of retention for any next connection to the network.
