Step 1
To check the connections that are on your personal computer, go to the "Network Connections" folder. Here you can find all the information about connected network and local devices, LAN printers, used groups and much more. Click the My Computer shortcut on your desktop. Next, select the "Control Panel" tab. Look for a shortcut called Network Neighborhood. If this is not the case, on the left side, click on the "Switch to classic view" button.
Step 2
Now click the Show All Connections button. After that, various shortcuts will appear. If you have a connected local network on your computer, then there will definitely be a shortcut called "Local network". It is also worth noting that it will say “Disconnected” or “Connected” next to it. If you want to know when a local network is connected or disconnected on your computer, make some settings.
Step 3
Right-click on the "Local Area Network" shortcut. Select the "Properties" tab. Check the box next to Show icon when connected. You will now be in the know. You can also check the modem connection in the "Network Neighborhood" tab. The settings shortcut is usually located in the "High Speed Internet" or "Remote Access" menu. It all depends on the type of provider.
Step 4
Technologies such as wi-fi and Bluetooth can also be viewed in this menu. This connection is referred to as "Wireless Network Connection". Disconnecting and connecting is usually done by hotkeys. However, to access the Internet, you need to look for special access points. They are open, that is, without a password, and completely closed so that unauthorized persons cannot penetrate the network.
