The web browser log displays information about when and which web pages you visited. On the one hand, it is quite convenient to use this information for a quick transition to the required resource. But sometimes you want to delete your activity history by clearing your browser history.

Instructions

Step 1

The way to remove information from a particular log depends on which browser you are using, but the principle is very similar. To clear the history in Internet Explorer, launch it and click the star icon (Favorites) on the toolbar.

Step 2

In the dialog box that opens, go to the "History" tab. You will see a list of time periods for which you can view or delete history. Move the cursor to one of the items in the journal, right-click on it and select the "Delete" command from the context menu. The browser will notify you in a separate window that you are going to delete the history for the selected period. Confirm your actions in the request window by clicking on the "Yes" button.

Step 3

If you need to clear the entire history at once, and not the history for a specific period, select the "Delete Browsing History" item from the "Tools" menu. A new dialog box will open. Mark the item "Journal" in it with a marker. If necessary, you can also delete temporary files, passwords, and so on. Click on the "Delete" button and confirm the actions in the request window. The log will be cleared.

Step 4

To clear the activity history from the Mozilla Firefox browser, select "History" in the top menu bar and the command "Show entire history". A new dialog box will open. It contains a list of visited resources for specific periods of time. You can delete them in the same way as in IE. The only thing to remember is that in Firefox you do not need to confirm the "Delete" command, be careful not to erase the data you need.

Step 5

To clear the entire history at once, as well as (if necessary) cookies, search form history, information about active sessions, etc., in the top menu bar, select the "Tools" item and the "Erase recent history" command. In the dialog box that opens, mark with a marker everything that you want to delete and click on the "Clear now" button. You do not need to confirm your actions here either.
