Internet browsers automatically save all visited pages. This function has both undoubted advantages and disadvantages - any user can find out about your actions on the network. To avoid this, the browsing history can be easily deleted.
Instructions
Step 1
You need to periodically clear the list of visited sites even if you do not need to hide all kinds of user information. Such actions, for example, are required to eliminate the destructive consequences of various virus attacks - by deleting the history of visits, you will protect your computer from repeated self-infection.
Step 2
Mozilla Firefox. To delete history, open your browser and click on the "Tools" item located in the horizontal menu at the top of the page. Select "History" from the drop-down menu. In the dialog box that appears, uncheck or select the necessary checkboxes. Also, the browsing history can be automatically deleted every time you close the browser. To do this, check the box next to the "Clear history when Firefox is closed" located in the "Settings" section.
Step 3
Internet Explorer. After opening the browser, press the key combination Ctrl + shift + Del. In the "Delete browsing history" window that appears, check the boxes next to the items that you want to clear and click "Delete". You can check deleted pages by clicking on the star-shaped icon located in the upper right corner of your browser. There, in the "Journal" tab, not a single page you visited should remain.
Step 4
Opera. Go to the "Tools" menu item and select "Delete personal data". In the window that opens, click next to the "Detailed setting". Check the boxes in the drop-down list where you need them if they are not the default. Click on the "Delete" button.
Step 5
Safari. Select "History" in the main menu, and in it - "Clear history". Check the box next to "Reset Top Sites" in the window that opens with the message "Are you sure you want to clear history?" Then click on the "Clear" button.
Step 6
Google Chrome. Click on the wrench icon in the upper right corner and select the "History" section. In the tab that appears, click on the inscription "Clear history" - a dialog box will open in front of you. Select the period for which you want to delete the history, and click on "Clear history".
