Searches and web surfing history are saved on your hard drive. If you want to keep your internet preferences secret, you can delete your browsing history from your computer.
How to remove search terms in Mozilla Firefox
Click the menu button at the right edge of the toolbar and click the "Journal" icon. Select the item "Delete recent history". In the delete dialog box, open the Delete drop-down list and specify the time interval for which you want to clear the search history. In the list of "Details", check the box next to "History of visits and downloads" and click "Delete now".
You can delete not the entire history, but individual search queries. Click in the address bar and press the Down Arrow key to scroll through the list of visited sites. Highlight the web address you want to delete with the cursor and press Delete.
You can immediately delete the history of visits to a website. Press the menu button, click the "Log" icon and click "Show entire log" in the bottom line of the list. In the search bar, type the name of the site and press Enter. A list of all visited pages of this site will appear in the browser window. Right-click on any address and select "Forget About This Site" from the context menu.

In the "Tools" menu, select the "History" item or use the combination Ctrl + Shift + H. In the "Name" list, click the folder that contains the addresses of the visited pages for the desired interval of time. Mark the web address and click the "Delete" trashcan icon on the toolbar. If you want to delete records for the entire period, select the folder and click "Delete".
There is another way: in the "Tools" menu, select "Delete personal data" and in the dialog box, click "Detailed settings". Check the boxes for "Clear browsing history" and "Clear download history", then click "Delete."
To remove the URL of any site from the address bar, left-click on it and press the Down Arrow key. Delete the address with the Delete button.

Click the settings and control button at the right border of the address bar and select the "History" item. If you want to hide a web address, select it and click Remove Selected Items. To clear your entire search history, click Clear History.
You can choose incognito mode for visiting sites. Surfing will not differ from usual, but web page addresses will not be saved in the history of visits, and cookies will be deleted after the window is closed. To select this mode, use the Ctrl + Shift + N keys.
How to remove search terms from IE
Right-click on the Internet Explorer icon and select Properties. In the General tab under Browsing History, click Delete. In the uninstall window, check the boxes for "Log" and "Temporary Internet files". Uncheck the box next to Save Data. Click Remove.
To remove an individual URL from the address bar, click the down arrow at its right border, point to the desired address and click on the red cross on the right.
