The Mail.ru Agent service is used by users of the mail.ru mail server to communicate through the exchange of short messages. The account of this service is sometimes tied to a mailbox, which is not always convenient.
Instructions
Step 1
Before deleting the agent account from your mailbox, decide whether you will use this email address in the future. If you also do not need a mailbox, go to its deletion page, after which your account in the agent will not be linked to it and will also be deleted.
Step 2
Enter the following link in the address bar: https://win.mail.ru/cgi-bin/delete. Please note that in order to perform this action, you need to have access to your mailbox, so enter your username and password in the appropriate login form.
Step 3
Following the instructions of the system, delete your mailbox, after which your account in the Mail.ru Agent instant messaging service will also be deleted with it. Restoring access can only be possible when registering a mailbox of the same name, if at that time the username is no longer taken.
Step 4
If you only need to remove the agent from your mailbox, go to setting up an account in the system and delete it, confirm the action using the method indicated in the menu. After that, no messages will be sent to your mailbox with messages about actions in the mail.ru agent, since the user account will be deleted.
Step 5
If you need to keep the agent account, find the Change mailbox item in the menu. Note that in this case, you must have access to both of them.
Step 6
Go to your mailbox and confirm the change of your email address. Go to the inbox e-mails menu in the second mailbox menu and confirm the changes. Please note that the availability of this feature may depend on which version of the software you are using on your computer. Remember that once you delete your agent account, you cannot restore it.
