Sooner or later, any gamer has a desire to create his own server for his game, on which anyone could do what he wants. In addition, a game server with proper marketing and advertising can bring quite a lot of profit. The most popular is the creation of Lineage 2 servers.
It is necessary
- - Java machine,
- - MySQL server,
- - Navicat,
- - Lineage 2 server package.
Instructions
Step 1
To install Lineage 2 server, you must first install Java and MySQL on the system, because most assemblies use this particular bundle. Java has a lot of tools for working with the network, while MySQL is considered one of the most convenient DBMS.
To install Java, you just need to install the appropriate library that comes with the installer. You can download it from the official website of the Sun. MySQL company is also equipped with a convenient installer, it will be enough to select the directory where the database is located. Of more interest is the configuration utility that runs after installation. It is worth choosing Standard Configuration, install as Windows Service. Then you need to provide a password for the superuser. Next, you will need to specify a password for connecting to the database, which is better to remember, since it will be required to install the server.
Step 2
The next step is to install Navicat (a tool for working with MySQL). A license is required for its operation, installation is carried out using a regular installer. After installation, you will need to launch the created icon "Navicat for MySQL". To create a new connection, enter the corresponding menu item (File - New connection). The name of the server is entered in the Connection Name field, the host can be left localhost. The username is root, the password is the same that was specified during the MySQL installation. Then, on the created connection, right-click and select "New Database". This will create a new DB. It is advisable to name it by the same name as the server.
Step 3
Next, you need to unpack the downloaded ready-made Lineage server into a specific folder where it will be located (for example, the Server folder in the root of the C:) drive. Then the files and scripts of the program are configured (for accurate editing, read the readme file). The archive, as a rule, contains executable files, by running which (after appropriate configuration), the server becomes available for the game.
