Step 1
If you want to combine several computers into a small network, then use a network hub for this. Connect the hub to AC power. Prepare the required number of RJ-45 network cables. It should be equal to the number of computers to be connected.
Step 2
Connect the network adapters of all computers to the hub using the cables you purchased. Turn on one of these computers and configure the settings for its operation. It is recommended to use static IP addresses, because the network hub is not endowed with the function of automatically distributing computer addresses.
Step 3
Open the list of network connections for the selected computer. Find the icon of the network adapter connected to the hub. Go to its properties. Highlight the line "Internet Protocol TCP / IP". Click the "Properties" button located at the bottom of the work menu.
Step 4
Click on "Use the following IP address". Enter the value of the IP address of this network card in the first field of this menu. In this case, you can use any available address, because computers are not associated with external resources. Click the Ok button to save the parameters of the network card.
Step 5
Configure the network cards of other computers in the same way. You must enter a new value for the IP address each time. Ideally, they should differ only in the last segment.
Step 6
Now configure the firewall on each computer. Allow all computers in the homegroup to access the shared resources. Naturally, it is necessary to select this type of connection when the corresponding window appears. To change the group type, open the Network and Sharing Center. Open the Select Homegroup and Sharing Options menu. Customize the menu that opens, specifying those parameters that you consider optimal.
