In the nineties of the last century, computer games burst into the world, in which their own game language (gaming slang) appeared. This slang is different in each game, but the basic terms are found in almost every game, although sometimes they have different meanings depending on which game they originated in.
Now it is hardly possible to find out in which game the term "twink" originated, more or less reliably we can say that its root originated from the English word - twin, that is, double (twin). A Twink in a computer game is an additional (not the first) character, hero, or even a player's account. And it is created for various purposes: most often for feeding the main game character, sometimes for storing things, pumping professions. In fact, this is an additional player profile, or several characters on one account, created to gain a game advantage. In many free online games, this is prohibited and punishable by a ban.
What are Twinks in World of Tanks?
The products of the Belarusian company Wargaming - World of Tanks and World of Tanks Blitz - differ from almost all multiplayer online games. Therefore, the concept of a twink and the reasons for its establishment here are significantly different from other games. In these games, it will not be possible to transfer game "goodies" from one account to another - such as gold, silver, equipment, experience. … In general, everything for which a twink is made in other games. This is all simply forbidden by the game itself, and it cannot be done purely physically, although, as usual, there are many rumors. No, there are small loopholes, but they are sparse, and are used most often in clans.
As in any other games, in World of Tanks there is a concept of player statistics, and it is statistics that are the main reason for setting up another account. Of course, there are other options, for example, when a player downloads some development branches on one profile, and others on another. But such and similar reasons are quite rare.
Most often, on the main account, the player is just learning to play and in most cases he does it clumsily, that is, as they say, he plays for fun. He's not that he doesn't bother about statistics, he doesn't even think about it.
But there is a certain percentage of players who, having learned to play tanks, are not satisfied with the readings of their statistics on the main account (they fought a huge number of battles, and in order to correct the statistics, they need to be held even more). And they are the ones who in most cases give birth to a twink. Of course, there is a certain percentage of players who have long and persistently reigned statistics on the basis, but such a minority.
Types of tank twinks
When a twink is created, there are several options for further development. There are two main ones.
The first one is when the player simply downloads a new account from scratch, avoiding the mistakes that were based on. And, thanks to the skill and understanding of the game, he gets much better statistics as a result.
And the second option, which can be called "everything for the good of statistics." A lot of money is being invested in the new account. Several good premium tanks are bought, all sorts of "buns" are used that give the use of gold - premium account, gold consumables, shells, etc. Experience is gained on premium tanks, then this experience, for the purchased in-game gold, is transferred to free, and only then development branches open in which imbalance (imba) tanks are present. These are tanks that, due to some of their not fully balanced characteristics, have an advantage over others. And already excellent statistics are crammed on them. It is this category of twinkies that ordinary players dislike most of all, since they sacrifice the good of the team in the name of their own statistics. Well, and of course, they do not like them out of envy, too. not everyone can afford to spend so much. And most people think that if they had the opportunity to invest such a lot of money in the game, they would also bend everyone. In fact, this, of course, is far from the case, in addition to pouring in money, you also need to learn how to play.
In the rules of the game, they don't write anything about twinks, so it's not worth talking about bans of twinks, in fact, another player account. If they are banned, it is for reasons other than the creation of a twink.
