The authorization procedure in the ICQ service is required to restrict unwanted contacts from being able to view the status, send messages and perform some other actions. However, you can authorize any of the contacts and add them to your list. The procedure will depend on the ICQ client used.
Instructions
Step 1
If you communicate in ICQ through the QIP application, in the main window of the program (window with a list of contacts), click the "Settings" button. In the new dialog box, open the "Anti-spam" section, which in any version of the application is located in the menu on the left.
Step 2
Make sure that in the For those who are not on my contact list, make sure that the check box next to the Do not accept authorization messages is unchecked, and that in the Options section, you have set permission to receive messages from people who are not in your contact list. Close the window after saving the changes made by clicking the "Apply" or "OK" button.
Step 3
Ask the person you want to add to your contact list to send you an authorization request. To do this, he needs to right-click on your account in his contact list and select the "Request authorization" command from the context menu. You will receive a message via ICQ, in which you will need to confirm your desire to authorize the contact.
Step 4
To perform a similar procedure in the Mail.ru Agent and ICQ applications, you do not need to configure the client, it is enough to ask a user not from the contact list to send you an authorization request. This action is performed in the same way as in the QIP program.
Step 5
Sometimes, after authorization is confirmed, a new contact appears in the list, but its status is displayed incorrectly, which complicates communication. In such cases, you can, on your part, send a request for authorization or ask the user to send you a reapplication, which in most cases helps to solve the problem. In addition, you can try restarting the application - this is another way to correctly complete the authorization process.
