The main advantage of free domains is that you can register as many of them as you like without incurring practically any costs. However, this is where all the advantages of free domains end.
Instructions
Step 1
Free domains can be conditionally divided into two large groups - second-level domains and third-level domains. Some Russian hosting companies offer their customers a free domain registration as a bonus (usually in the RU zone).
Step 2
Another example of free second-level domains are domains in the TK, ML, GA and CF zones. Domains can be registered in these zones, for example, at the Freenom registrar. One-, two- and three-letter domains, as well as many one-word domains, are not available for free registration. A domain in the TK, ML, GA and CF zones can be registered for a period of one to 12 months with a free renewal condition. At the same time, domains can be renewed an unlimited number of times. Free domains cannot be transferred, and they can only be renewed in the last two weeks before the expiration of the registration period. In addition, they must comply with the terms of use defined by Freenom or the direct domain registrar (TK domains, for example, are managed by DOT. TK).
Step 3
To register a domain in the TK zone, go to the DOT. TK website and type in the desired domain name in a special form. If such a domain name has not yet been registered, you will be prompted to select a domain registration period and register your own account. Registration as a DOT. TK user entitles you to free domain renewals, view statistics and use free service applications. If during domain registration you refuse to register as a DOT. TK user (that is, register the domain in anonymous mode), you will not be able to renew the domain when its registration period expires.
Step 4
The great thing about free domains is that you don't have to spend on them. But there are additional risks associated with them - you can lose a domain, on the promotion of which you spent so much time and effort, if you just forget to renew it in the last 15 days of the registration period. The use of free domains imposes certain restrictions. For example, such a domain may be deactivated for violation of the terms of use. The list of conditions that can lead to deactivation of a domain in the TK zone, for example, includes such vague wording as "publication of unauthorized advertising information" and "abuse of free search engines."
