Configuring a remote report server involves first modifying the Windows Firewall settings and allowing requests to be used on the ports participating in the selected server.
Instructions
Step 1
Call the main menu of the Microsoft Windows operating system by clicking the "Start" button and go to the "All Programs" item to perform the operation of configuring remote connections to the report server database.
Step 2
Select Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 and expand the Configuration Tools link.
Step 3
Go to the SQL Server Configuration Manager section and double-click the SQL Server Network Configuration node.
Step 4
Select "Protocols" and enable the TCP / IP protocols and the selected channels.
Step 5
Restart the SQL Server service to apply the selected changes, and return to the main Start menu to activate remote administration in the firewall.

Call the context menu of the "Command line" element by right-clicking and specify the "Run as administrator" command.

Enter a value: netsh.exe firewall set service type = REMOTEADMIN mode = Enable scope = ALL
in the command prompt text box and press the function key Enter to confirm the execution of the command to start the service.

Return to the main Start menu again and go to Control Panel to configure DCOM permissions to allow remote access to WMI utilities.

Point to Administration and select Component Services.

Expand the Computers node and point to My Computer.

Expand the Action menu and select Properties.

Select the COM Security section and click the Edit Restrictions button in the Launch and Activation Permissions section.

Enter your username and confirm your choice with OK.

Apply the checkboxes in the Remote Access and Remote Activation boxes in the Allow section of the User or Group Permissions node and confirm the selected changes by clicking OK.

Return to the Computer Management menu and expand the Services and Applications link to complete the procedure for changing the server WMI namespace permissions settings.

Call the context menu of the WMI control component by right-clicking and selecting the Properties item.

Select the "Security" tab of the dialog box that opens and sequentially expand the folders:
- Root;
- Microsoft;
- SQL Server;
- ReportServer;
- MSSQLServer;
- v10.

Specify the Admin folder and click the Security button.

Use the "Add" option to define a username to be used to manage the server, and apply the checkboxes in the fields:
- "Enable account";
- "Enable remotely";
- "Read safety."
