Have you entered into an agreement with one of the Internet providers for the provision of services, but for some reason the wizard did not configure the connection itself? Or have you reinstalled the operating system and all your pre-configured network connections have been deleted and you need to create a new one? Setting up a new network connection yourself is not difficult at all. The main thing is to have an active connection to the Internet via a high-speed cable or other communication source. The process of creating a connection on all operating systems is approximately the same, let's analyze the algorithm using the example of Windows XP.
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, open the "Control Panel" (via the "Start" menu or via "My Computer").
Step 2
Select the Network Connections icon in the Control Panel. Open them up.
Step 3
Now find either the "LAN" or "High Speed Internet Connection" group. In the LAN or High Speed Internet Connection group, select Local Area Connections. Click on this icon with the right mouse button and select "Properties" from the drop-down menu.

The "Local Area Connection" - "Properties" dialog box should appear. In this dialog box, find the list of "Components Used by This Connection". In this list, uncheck the box next to "Internet Protocol (TCP / IP)". Then click the "OK" button.

In the "Network Connections" folder, find the "Master" group. In the "Wizard" group, select "Network Connection Wizard", start it by double-clicking. Click the Next button.

In the dialog box that appears, select the "Connect to the Internet" item. Click Next again.

In the next dialog box, select "Set up a connection manually". Click Next.

In the next dialog box, select "Via a high-speed connection, prompting for username and password", click "Next".

Now, in the dialog box that appears, in the white box, enter the name of the service provider. Click Next.

The next dialog has some free fields. In the "Username" field, enter the username, and in the "Password" field - the password that the provider should have provided to you. The password must be entered twice - again in the "Confirmation" field. Click Next.

In the dialog box that appears, click "Connect". If all the operations were done correctly, a message with a white background will appear in the lower right corner indicating that the connection is active.
