As a rule, updating modules on the site or some information can affect the entire code of the project. In this case, the pages can be distorted, in some way "buggy". Users who will be on the site at this moment will submit an additional download for the system. This can have a significant impact on the operation of the entire project. To protect yourself from such situations, you need to turn off the site for a while when updating information or some other repair work.
Step 2
If you have an engine on your site, then it necessarily has a built-in function that allows you to disable the resource. In this case, all information remains the same, just users will not be able to get to the main page. Automatic redirection to the html page with the text stating that the site is closed for a while will be enabled. Go to the project dashboard.
Step 3
To do this, you need to log in to the system under an administrator account. Go to the "Settings" or "System Management" tab. These menu options are named in different ways in different engines. Next, look for something like "Site Disconnected" or "Update Message". Check the box next to "Disable site for a while." In this case, you can independently write the text that users will see when they get to the main page of the site.

It is also worth noting that you can make the site inaccessible by disabling hosting. Almost all such services provide the function of disabling the resource when the system is updated. Go to the site you are hosting your project. Log in to the system and go to the settings. Then just make settings to disable hosting on your project for a while.
