For some reason, the user may need to block a specific site. Blocking means a ban on loading a site. This can be done using standard OS tools.
Instructions
Step 1
In order to prohibit the loading of a certain site on a personal computer, you need to have administrator rights, since you will have to configure some system folders. If you do not have these rights, create a user on the system that will have access to all system folders and files. Next, go to the local drive where the operating system is installed.
Step 2
This is usually the "C" drive category. To check this, on the desktop, click the shortcut titled "My Computer". Next, you will see a list of all local drives that are on the computer. Find the one that has the Windows folder. Go to the system32 section. Find the folder called drivers and in it, double-click on the folder etc. Now you need to find a file called hosts. This is a system document in which settings for sites are written.
Step 3
Open it up. To do this, right-click. A context menu will appear, in which select the "Open With" menu. Next in the list of programs, click "Notepad" - this is a small text editor. Several lines will appear. Find the line with the word localhost. Below, enter the site to which you want to deny access. Next, save the document.
Step 4
You can also block access using special software. As a rule, these are programs for scanning network traffic. Open such a program on your computer. If you do not have it, download from the Internet and install. Find the "Options" for this utility. Then go to the "Blocked Sites" or "Quarantine" tab. Click the "Add" button and enter the name of the site. Your items may differ due to the use of other software.
