History
The bank, which now bears the name of Sberbank of Russia, is also the oldest bank in the country. It was founded in 1841. During the Soviet era, it operated in the country as a network of state savings banks, and after the collapse of the USSR in 1991, it was transformed into a commercial financial institution - the Savings Bank of the Russian Federation.
