Step 1
Purchase a Wi-Fi adapter. Choose the type of this device that suits you. It is better to use hardware that connects to the PCI channel located on the computer's motherboard. This will allow you to avoid occupying USB ports or accidentally disconnecting your device. To connect a PDA to a computer, you can use an adapter that does not have the ability to create an access point. Such devices are much cheaper.
Step 2
Connect the Wi-Fi adapter to your computer. Turn on your PC and wait for the operating system to load. Install the drivers and software required to manage the settings of your network equipment. Restart your computer for the device to be ready for use.
Step 3
Open the Network and Sharing Center. In the left part of the working window, find the item "Manage wireless networks" and open it. In the menu that opens, click the "Add" button. Select the option to create a Computer-to-Computer network.
Step 4
Fill in the table in the new menu. Pay particular attention to the item "Security type". Choose the encryption option that your Pocket PC's wireless adapter can handle. Click the Next and Finish buttons.
Step 5
A new connection should appear in the list of active networks, marked "Connection pending." Activate the search for available Wi-Fi networks on your Pocket PC. Connect to the created network by entering the required password.
Step 6
Open the Change adapter settings menu located in the control panel. Find the internet connection icon and open its properties. Go to the "Access" tab and allow devices connected to the Wi-Fi network to use this connection to the Internet. Connect to the World Wide Web and check the availability of Internet access on the PDA.
