Internet connection can be made in different ways: for example, via ADSL connection, wireless access, Wi-Fi network or city telephone line. Whichever one you choose, the provider should provide all the settings. Otherwise, you can do everything yourself.

Step 1
If you intend to use an ADSL modem, please note that there are several types of them. Those of them that connect to a computer via a USB cable require the installation of special drivers (as a rule, they are included in the kit) and the connection of the modem to the telephone network. Next, create a new connection to the Internet: select the "Start" menu, then "Control Panel", "Network Connections" and finally "Create a connection". Now click on the "Connect to the Internet" column, then "Through a high-speed connection". In the window that appears, specify the name of the connection being established, as well as the login and password received from the provider. Save your changes.
Step 2
Before using a regular ADSL modem, first connect it to the telephone network and then to the computer using a cable. In this case, you will also need to install drivers. To establish a connection, launch the corresponding shortcut on the desktop. It is impossible not to mention another way of setting up such a modem, which is carried out by connecting the Patch Cord cable. However, this method is more complicated and requires professional skills. And the possibility of its implementation depends on the purchased model of the modem.
Step 3
If you chose the Internet via a dedicated line, then just connect the cable supplied by your provider to your computer. After that, the network card should receive automatic settings, and then you can go online. However, in some cases, you may need to manually specify the IP address. To do this, click on the "Start" menu, then on "Control Panel". Click on the "Network Connections", "Local Area Connection" column. Select Properties and Internet Protocol. Now you can enter the IP address that was provided by the provider.
Step 4
It may be necessary to set up an Internet connection when using a 3G mobile modem. Connect the modem itself to your computer, install software and drivers. They come with the modem. The setup itself will then take place in automatic mode.
