Downloading and installing the program

You can download the WinHTTrack program for free from the official website httrack.com by clicking “Download”. On the download page, you can select the required version, there is a program for platforms such as Windows 32 bit, Windows 64 bit, Linux, Android. After downloading, run the installer, poke "Next", specify the installation path. By default, it is installed on the disk with the operating system in the Program Files folder. After poking through the remaining "Next" keys, wait until the installation is complete and run the program.

When you start WinHTTrack for the first time, you will be prompted to select the language to use. Find the item “Language preference” at the bottom and select the item “Russian” from the rather large list. The program will need to restart to install the new language, please do so. The completely restarted program will be completely in Russian.

Project creation and website download

In order to download a site, you first need to create a so-called project for it. Click the "Next" button in the program window. Enter the desired name in the "Project name" field, for example, the name of a site. Create a new category, think about what type this site is - entertainment, educational, informational, etc. On this basis, create a category for it. At the initial stage, this may not be important, but when a lot of sites are saved, you will not get confused in them, it will be very convenient. Below, specify the directory where the site will be saved. Try to specify a folder with enough free space. After making the above settings, click the "Next" button.

Next, you need to select the type of action to be performed, by default it is the site loading. Here in the drop-down list you can select, for example, reloading a previously downloaded site, updating an existing download - this is when you already have a site, but it needs to be supplemented with something new that has appeared on the network. You can choose to download only files from the site, etc. The classic version of downloading the entire site will do, and leave it. In the "Web addresses" field, enter the address of the required site, copied from the address bar.

If you wish, you can set additional parameters for downloading, if there is no such need, click the "Next" button, then "Finish" and the download of the site will begin. Several parameters can now be monitored in the program window. How many bytes are saved, elapsed time, how many files are saved, how many scanned, download speed, etc. You cannot influence these parameters during download, they are presented simply for information and for passive control of the situation. The fully downloaded site can later be found in the previously specified directory.
