Everyone needs information, from housewives to representatives of government agencies. The Internet provides unlimited opportunities in finding the necessary information, but you need to be able to use the search engines correctly, of which there are a sufficient number today.
Instructions
Step 1
The most popular search engines preferred by Russian Internet users are Google, Yandex, Bing, Ramble. Each system has its own characteristics and it is possible to single out a more acceptable one only based on personal experience. The user independently configures the home page of the search engine, or it is installed by default along with the search engine. In any case, the choice of the optimal search engine remains with the user, and the same query can be pushed through several search engines - the results will partially match, but additional information will also be given.
Step 2
The search algorithm is approximately the same in all systems. Each system has a web spider program that checks Internet pages for finding materials that match a search query, an indexer is a program that processes the search results of the "spider" and forms a database, including the addresses of relevant pages. The response to a user's query is called search results.
Step 3
In information search, the main condition for the relevant return of the result is a well-formed query. The request is found in the search bar of the system. Usually search engines are case-sensitive, therefore, if you need to find a proper name, they write it with a capital letter, otherwise the request for the “Black Coffee” group will display all the information about the drink. The request should not be entered when the Caps Lock key is on, since in this case the headers will be added to the search results first of all, if they exist somewhere.
Step 4
Requests can be specified, for this there are special search languages that would be good to remember if the search for information is part of the activity. They allow you to reduce search time by filtering out unnecessary results. Signs "+" and "-" will make it clear to the search engine, a query with a plus must be found, and what is marked with a minus should be ignored. Vertical slash "|" will show the search engine that any of the stated words are needed for the issue. Upon request, in the form - turnip | grandfather | grandmother | granddaughter | bug | cat | mouse, not only pages with the turnip story will be issued, but also all sites where at least one of the listed words is mentioned. Sign "!" will cut off all word forms of the query, the query in quotation marks will return sites where there is only an exact, undiluted phrase.
