ICQ, that is, the ICQ instant messaging program, as well as similar programs such as Qip, Miranda, have long gained popularity among Internet users around the world. These programs make it possible to conveniently and quickly receive and send messages online. They also allow you to track the appearance of a user on the network, what he is doing at the moment and whether he can answer.
Instructions
Step 1
Launch the ICQ program, usually its shortcut in the form of a flower is on the taskbar or on the desktop. Otherwise, open the "Start" menu, find the "Programs" item and from there launch the ICQ program. Log in, enter your username and password in ICQ to be able to send the file via ICQ.
Step 2
Wait until the program receives a list of your contacts, select the recipient to whom you want to send the file via ICQ, right-click on his name and select the "transfer file" option. The transfer window will open, in which select the file using the "browse" command: open the desired folder, select the file and click the "open" button. In order for the ICQ file to be attached to the message, your interlocutor must confirm the receipt of the file. Next, the transfer window will open, in which you can track the transfer process, speed and how much time is left until the end. Do not close this window until the file transfer process is complete. When the file is transferred, the program will notify you with the appropriate sound, and the transfer window will say “Transfer completed”. Close this window.
Step 3
Open the chat window by double-clicking on the nickname of the interlocutor and click the button with the floppy disk on the toolbar. Select the command "transfer files directly", in the window that opens, select the desired file, click the "open" button. Please note that in order to send a file in ICQ directly, the presence of the user on the network is a prerequisite. Also, for direct file transfer, you can open the chat window and drag the desired file with the left mouse button directly to the message window. In this case, the transfer will start automatically.
Step 4
Also, if the user is not online, you can attach ICQ files to your offline message. To do this, open the chat window, click the button with the floppy disk and select the "upload file to the server" command. In the window that opens, select the desired folder and select the file, then click the "Open" button. The file will be uploaded to the server, and the user can download it as soon as it appears on the network.
