Torrent trackers are one of the most convenient forms of downloading files on the Internet. For example, you get a movie and then distribute it to other users. There are situations when the upload speed needs to be limited.
Instructions
Step 1
Unlimited internet has long been the norm. However, the best conditions are provided for wired Internet service. When you use a USB modem, 3G speed is provided to you under certain conditions, as a rule, this is a certain amount of traffic, after which the speed is sharply limited. The distribution in torrent managers occurs simultaneously with the receipt of the file. If you limit the speed to a minimum, you save bandwidth.
Step 2
µTorrent and BitTorrent are popular torrent managers. The settings in both programs are done in the same way. You can limit the upload speed in them in two ways: for a specific file and in general settings. In the first case, find the desired file from the torrent list. Click on it with the right mouse button. A context menu will open, select the "Speed priority" item. In the new list, click Limit Recoil. A menu will appear with the default checkbox "Unlimited". You need to select the required value. At first, the minimum speed will be 25KB / s. If you need less, set this value, then repeat the procedure, and the speed settings window will display items lower in value. The minimum speed is 1 KB / s.
Step 3
To set the upload rate limit for all torrents, you need to change the general settings. In the torrent manager menu, click the "Settings" tab, then the "Configuration" item. There is another way to open the window for changing the settings - the key combination Ctrl + P. Find the line "Speed". On the right side of the window there will be several lines, among them select "General download speed limit", then set the desired speed value in KB / s, at least 1.
