An overflowing browser cache can cause incorrect display of Internet resource pages, affect the download speed of images and files. To prevent this from happening, it is recommended to periodically delete temporary files from the cache. There are several steps you need to take to clear the cache in Internet Explorer.
Instructions
Step 1
Start Internet Explorer. In the top menu bar, select the "Tools" item and the "Internet Options" sub-item, a new dialog box will open. Make sure you are on the General tab.
Step 2
Further steps depend on the version of IE. If you see the "Temporary Internet files" field on the tab, click on the "Delete files" button, confirm your actions in the request window that appears by clicking on the OK button, and wait until the operation is completed.
Step 3
If you see a Browsing History field on the General tab, click the Delete button there. A new "Delete browsing history" window will appear. Mark the item "Temporary Internet files" with a marker and confirm your actions with the "Delete" button.
Step 4
You can go a simpler way: in the top menu bar, select "Tools" and the sub-item "Delete Browsing History". This command calls the same "Delete browsing history" window, and further actions are similar to those described in the previous paragraph.
Step 5
There is also a general way to clear the Java plugin cache. To perform this operation, click the "Start" button and select "Control Panel" from the menu. A new dialog box will open. Make sure it is displayed in classic view and click on the Java icon.
Step 6
In the dialog box that opens, go to the General tab and click the Settings button in the Temporary Internet Files field. An additional window will appear, click the Delete files button in it. In the new query window, the required items will already be marked by default, you just need to click on the OK button and sequentially close all the windows.
